isplack Fundraising

isplack is about to enter phase 2 of the company's growth, and we'll be raising a bridge convertible note into our series B. We’ll be reaching out to existing investors about opportunities. If you’re not an existing investor but are accredited, let us know if you’d like to receive more information.

BLS x VaynerMedia

We were excited to spend a few days in LA recently with Gary and AJ of VaynerMedia and VaynerSports. We learned a lot about what they're doing with both the sports and media side of their business and are looking forward to building our relationship with them in the future.

Flywheel Update

Flywheel Project's summer of learning and doing continues, with several recent field trips around Denver and Boulder. Here are some of the places they've explored as part of their deep dive into startups and entrepreneurship:

  • At the new ONX Sports facility in Denver, Flywheelers witnessed how passion and determination helped a combat equipment business grow from a small basement operation into a thriving company. Thanks for showing them around and sharing the ONX story, Limey!
  • The Denver Outlaws gave Flywheel Project a tour of Mile High Stadium earlier this week, while also teaching them about the business of sports through the lens of some of their executives. Thank you for making this happen, Jared!
  • TechStars Boulder offered another opportunity for Flywheelers to see some behind-the-scenes action of various local startups. Managing Director Natty Zola generously offered his time and insights on what TechStars is all about. We appreciate you, Natty!

Ariana to Worlds!

On a personal note, next week I'll be in Moscow to cheer on my daughter, Ariana, in the International Federation of Sport Climbing Youth World Championships. Ariana placed top 5 in Speed climbing at the USA Climbing Youth National Championships earlier this month, earning her a place on the USA Climbing Team and an invite to the World Championships. I'll be out of the office from August 3-13, but checking email periodically.
